General Rules & Regulations

The Tourism Challenge is annual Vancouver tradition that is open to individuals who currently work for one of the 300 tourism industry partners involved in this program.  It is supported by the Vancouver Attractions Group, the Vancouver Hotel Association, Tourism Vancouver, Destination BC and the Vancouver Convention Centre.

Industry associates who get a minimum of 20 stamps (15 from participating Attractions, 2 from a Neighbourhood, and three from anywhere else) in their Passport between April 21 and May 31, 2018 earn the privilege pass.

Which gives one full year of admissions, savings or bonuses, for the associate and a guest, to the participating attractions listed here plus continued discounts and offers from participating hotels. The privilege pass is valid from June 1 2018 - April 30, 2019.

Participants must adhere to the Code of Conduct of the Tourism Challenge, and are expected to follow the guidelines, rules, regulations and direction of participating partners.  

Failure to adhere will result in the loss of the individual's Privilege Pass. 

Employment status will be verified prior to the distribution of prizes and individual privilege passes. 

Privilege Passes are only valid for the passholder, and is only valid for accredited and vetted employees from the participating partners.

Privilege Passes are the property of the Vancouver Attractions Group if a misuse or abuse of the program is recorded individual Privilege Passes must be forfeited when requested by thier employer or by the front line staff who is noting the infraction, failure to do some may result in the employees company or organization not be allowed to register for 2019.

Code of Conduct:

The Tourism Challenge Privilege Pass is for the exclusive use of individuals working in the industry and who have registered to participate. DO NOT pass it along to anyone else.

Participants must respect the offers being made by each partner and MUST NOT expect to receive special consideration because you have a Privilege Pass  

RESPECT your colleagues.  Please treat the front line staff as you would like to be treated, or as your company expects you to treat your guests.

Additonal proof of identification and or employment may be requested when you present your Privilege Pass to enjoy a perk.  Please be prepared. 

Prizes will be awarded as follows:

1 - Grand Prize Package (Approx. Value: $2,000.00) Awarded to one person who earned 40 more stamps

25 - 30 something prize packages (Approx. Value: $300.00 - $1,500 each)

24 - 20 does it prizes (Values from $50.00 - $299.00)

The Grand Prize draw will include all eligible Passports that contain 40 or more stamps, the second draw will include all Passports that have 30 or more qualified stamps, including those participants who did not win in the first draw. The third draw will include all passports that have 20 or more qualified stamps, including those participants who were eligible but did not win in the first or second draws

Draws will be made from all eligible Passports received at the Redemption Centre between May 31 and the close of the Redemption Centre on June 3, 2018  Passports received prior to May 31 and after June 3 will not be eligible for prize draws.

Draws will be conducted at 4:30 on Sunday June 3, 2018 at the Vancouver Convention Centre West 

Note: All costs and expenses not specifically paid for as part of the prizes including without limitation - meals, gratuities, insurance, personal expenses, taxes and any transportation are the responsibility of the winners. There is no cash value to these prizes and they must be accepted as awarded, no substitutions or alterations will be made. None of The Vancouver Attractions Group, the Hotel Association of Vancouver, Tourism Vancouver, prize contributors or their respective agents or representatives shall be responsible in any way for the use of or bear any liability whatsoever in any way attributable to a prize awarded in this contest. Each party that is eligible to win the prize must sign a declaration confirming understanding, compliance with, and acceptance of the contest rules, the prize, and a release of all liability satisfactory to Hotel Associaiton of Vancouver and the Vancouver Attractions Group. If any individual under the age of nineteen (19) years wins the grand prize or is the guest of the prize winner, the parents, legal guardian or other authorized legal representative of such person must also sign a consent and release of liability satisfactory to the Vancouver Attractions Group and the Hotel Associaiton of Vancouver.  Decisions of the judging panel are final with respect to all aspects of this.
